Queen Universe Philippines 2026 presented a competition format designed to assess beauty, confidence, cultural representation, communication, and personal purpose.
The hosts explained that the preliminary stage included the production number, swimsuit competition, national costume competition, evening gown competition, and a closed-door interview.
The scores from the preliminary rounds would determine 12 semifinalists, with two additional places reserved for the Best in Tourism Video recipient and the candidate who received the highest percentage of public votes. Together, these would form the Top 14.
The semifinalists would then face another swimsuit round and a casual interview, after which seven candidates were initially expected to advance.
During the later stage of the actual event, a tie led the selection committee to expand the finalist group to nine.
The final round included questions from the judges and a common question prepared by the pageant committee. The results would determine the titleholders of the inaugural edition.
The competition roadmap showed that the path to the crown required more than a strong stage presence. It called for communication skills, resilience, individuality, and the ability to express a meaningful purpose.
